Healthy and Safe at Raeburn.

Paul Breslin, Raeburn Drilling Group Health and Safety Manager gives us an update on progress during Covid.

Welcome to the first Raeburn Drilling & Geotechnical Ltd (RDG) newsletter of 2021. As we go into the new year still under tier 4 restrictions, I thought I would take the opportunity to reflect on the impact that Coronavirus has had on our organisation.

We have all faced uncertainty that has dramatically affected all areas of our life. This includes home settings, extended families and friends, as well as the workplace and our colleagues. At RDG, we always ensure that our employees and their families are our top priority.

Since the beginning of the pandemic we have been striving to ensure that our services remain of the highest standards whilst complying with Government guidance and ensuring Health and Safety is at the forefront of the business.

All of our Health and Safety Accreditations have been maintained, with top results achieved in our most recent RISQS and Achilles/Verify audits.

Preparation is ongoing for our upcoming IEC 9001, 14001 & 45001 management systems audit, which I am sure will be equally successful.

Although we are still amid the pandemic, staff development has remained vitally important, with training delivered both internally and externally across all business areas.

Those returning from extended absences have undertaken refresher training in cable avoidance and educational training in the application of the Construction (Design and Management) regulation 2015.

As a company, we are confident that the standards we aspire to have not been adversely affected by the ongoing pandemic. In fact we have raised awareness and improved communication and collaboration across the entire Raeburn group.

As we look forward to the coming year, the rolling out of the vaccine will hopefully start us on the path to the easing of restrictions and the relaxation of the control measures over time and life may begin to resemble some sort of “normality”. RDG has demonstrated resilience, innovation and foresight throughout the pandemic.

We will continue to overcome any obstacles in our way with the same determination, pragmatism, and professionalism for which we are known!

I wish everyone a successful and safe 2021!
